Who hasn't heard "Buy art you love" but I witnessed "Love buys art". It was one of those exciting moments etched in the heart and minds of all who attended the Holiday Open House at Monarch Gallery in La Jolla, Calif. Where two world renowned artists Tuan and Arian were featured.
"Two Hearts Become One" was taken down and all celebrants whisked behind the velvet rope,where the artist signed Best Wishes for the handsome couple. What an appropriate gift for an anniversary, a vivid reminder of physical and spiritual love.
Both Tuan, sculptor and Arian master painter started at age 15 and dedicated their lives to their discipline. Decades creating bodies of work that evoke emotion and inspiration.Tuan poetry explains his art, while Arian is less revealing. He did point out the light from exhibit "Into the Light" represents the soul. I asked how does one paint the soul? "Very carefully."
The rain outside, couldn't dampen the spirits of all inside or upon the walls, it quenched the soul, both rarely seen in Southern California.
